Account Manager - Freight Forwarding and Logistics

People in Focus is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our team in the freight forwarding and logistics industry. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for maintaining a varied portfolio of clients and developing a rewarding career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • First point of contact for client enquiries and building strong relationships
  • Purchase order management, quotations, and rate negotiations
  • Updating rates, chasing documentation, and ensuring correct paperwork is received
  • Passing documentation on for customs clearance and job registration
  • Monitoring cargo availability, status, and transshipments
  • Sea and air cargo reporting, paying charges, and organising EDOs
  • Organising local and interstate road and rail movements
  • Finalising invoices to clients and overseas agents
  • Liaising with shipping lines, freight forwarders, overseas agents, customers, suppliers, and internal staff

Requirements:

  • Cargowise EDI experience is highly desirable
  • Experience in Account Management with a freight forwarder in the Australian market is required
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines, time management skills, attention to detail, and proficiency
  • Ability to apply creativity and problem-solving skills
