Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person to join our team as a Lead in Truth Telling.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in high-performing teams to develop creative and engaging library services, programs, and events in collaboration with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Engage and partner with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, artists, and communities to maintain strong relationships that contribute to the Queensland Statement of Commitment to reframing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Provide people and project management and support in the delivery of programs and events, including coordinating promotion, sourcing of supplies and resources, and meeting operational objectives.
  • Partner with communities through Indigenous Knowledge Centres, public libraries, and language centres to develop and implement programs and events.
  • Review, evaluate, and report on current programs to ensure they meet service delivery targets, including measuring client satisfaction levels, attendance quotas, quality standards, and operational objectives.
  • Ensure content is targeted, relevant, and appropriate for the community and audience, including researching history, stories, statistics, and trends in library services – internationally, nationally, and locally.

  • Able to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.
  • Strong leadership and partnership skills.
  • Experience in program development and delivery.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
