Cloud Test Automation Specialist

This role is a key member of a cross-functional software delivery team responsible for designing, building and maintaining automated test frameworks to ensure quality outcomes. As part of the Quality Engineering and Testing Capability Community of Practice (CoP), this role works closely with Testing teams, Software Engineers, Business Analysts and Project Managers to achieve well-engineered outcomes.

The primary responsibilities of this role include:

  • Designing and developing automated test scripts using technical analysis of functional and non-functional specifications, requirements and solution architecture.
  • Ensuring traceability records exist from tests back to requirements.
  • Collaborating with the Program Test Manager/Test Lead in test planning and specifying requirements for test environments, test data and tools.
  • Contribute to the selection of the test automation approach for projects.
  • Building and maintaining the test automation framework using agreed standards and tools.
  • Participating in code reviews of own work and leading reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Responsible for interpreting and executing complex test scripts, analysing results and maintaining a defect register.
  • Providing reports on progress, anomalies and risks & issues associated with the overall project or release.

This role requires a strong understanding of testing methodologies, software development life cycles and Agile practices. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing, developing and maintaining automated test frameworks and will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Qualifications
  • Strong technical skills in programming languages such as Java, Python or C#.
  • Experience with test automation frameworks such as Selenium or Appium.
  • Knowledge of Agile development methodologies and testing principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
