Job Overview

This is a high-profile role that involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks to validate the functionality and performance of cloud-based data platforms.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in Python scripting using pytest, experience with automation frameworks, and a strong understanding of AWS services such as AWS Lake Formation, AWS Glue, Iceberg Tables, and Amazon S3.

This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Testing, Software Engineering, Business Analysts, and Project Managers, to achieve quality outcomes and contribute to the company's vision and strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build automated test frameworks using Python scripting and pytest.
  • Ensure traceability records exist from tests back to requirements.
  • Assist in test planning and specifying requirements for test environments, test data, and tools.
  • Contribute to the selection of test automation approaches for projects.
  • Maintain and improve existing test automation code and scripts.
  • Participate in code reviews and lead reviews of colleagues' work.
  • Interpret and execute complex test scripts, analyze results, and maintain defect registers.
  • Provide reports on progress, anomalies, and risks associated with projects or releases.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in building test strategies, planning, and methods.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, particularly in AWS services.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to query and analyze data, including advanced SQL query authoring.
