About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced secondary teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering sport and recreation programs to students aged 15-18 in a supportive and well-resourced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver VET Sport and Recreation Curriculum, focusing on practical skills and industry knowledge.
  • Lead physical activities, fitness testing, first aid, event setup, and coaching exercises aligned with real-world sport and recreation roles.
  • Embed teamwork, communication, leadership, and customer service skills to prepare students for work in gyms, community programs, or sporting organisations.
  • Conduct and record assessments in accordance with VCAA and RTO standards, ensuring students meet all unit outcomes.
  • Guide students in organising school-based sporting events, applying risk management and planning principles.
  • Use applied, hands-on approaches to engage students, particularly those more responsive to physical and experiential learning.
  • Provide career advice and support progression into apprenticeships, traineeships, or further study in sport, fitness, or recreation.
  • Model and teach safe practices, including OH&S procedures and emergency response protocols in sport and fitness settings.
Requirements:
  • Current VIT registration
  • Previous experience teaching secondary PE/Health and/or Vet Sport and Recreation in a school setting in Australia/NZ
  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia
