Job Opportunity: Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our wastewater treatment team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of our sewage treatment plants.

The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications such as a Certificate III in Water Industry Operations (Wastewater Treatment) and/or Certificate of Completion - Advanced Wastewater Treatment Operations (NSW DCCEEW). They will also possess substantial experience in sewage treatment plant operations and a General Construction Induction Training Card (White Card).

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain Council's sewage treatment plants, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Support the Senior Water Reclamation Operator in undertaking timely intervention, adjustments, and improvement processes to prevent environmental harm and licence breaches.
  • Undertake sample collection and analysis for plant optimisation, providing valuable insights to inform operational decisions.
  • Participate in on-call rostering arrangements and attend out-of-hours callouts, demonstrating a commitment to 24/7 service delivery.
  • Complete documentation relevant to the role, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Requirements:

Desirable licences and competencies include a Confined Spaces Certificate, Working at Heights Certificate, First Aid qualifications, and demonstrated experience in the supervision of contractors and trainees.
