About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a SOC Analyst at Rapid7. As a SOC Analyst, you will play a critical role in our Managed Detection and Response (MDR) service, working closely with our team to investigate and triage high-priority security events.
Key Responsibilities
- Review alert data to identify malicious activity in customer environments
- Investigate security incidents, including evidence acquisition and analysis, to identify the root cause and provide remediation recommendations
- Collaborate with our team to develop and implement effective security solutions
- Participate in shift rotations, including evenings and weekends, to ensure 24/7 coverage
Requirements
- 0-2 years of experience in a related field
- Passion for cybersecurity and problem-solving
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems
- Fundamental knowledge of security concepts, including threat intelligence and incident response
Preferred Qualifications
- Security certifications, such as GFACT, GSEC, GCIA, or GCIH
- Scripting or coding ability
- Participation in CTF events or red team/blue team training
