Job Description

We are seeking a strategic leader to drive our organisation's future direction. As Director Strategy, Economics and Insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our long-term strategy and informing enterprise reporting.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong track record in senior stakeholder engagement and executive advising. You will lead the development of our enterprise strategy, delivering high-quality internal and external reporting, and providing authoritative guidance on economic trends and policy signals.

Your expertise will be instrumental in establishing AFSA as a thought leader in regulation and financial services. You will collaborate with internal teams and the academic community to publish research that contributes to policy debate and establishes our agency as a centre of excellence.

You will have a proven ability to lead and integrate cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments, and a strong commitment to integrity, evidence-based decision-making and public service outcomes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Post-graduate qualifications in economics, strategy, data science, business administration or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in public sector strategy, performance reporting or regulatory reform.
  • High-level critical thinking and policy modelling capabilities.
  • Strong track record in senior stakeholder engagement and executive advising.
