Job Overview

The Queensland Department of Education seeks a temporary Principal Facilities Services Officer for the Disaster, Emergency and School Security team. This role involves high-level analysis, design, review and implementation of related systems, policies and project documentation.

About The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to provide high-level advice to senior management on school security infrastructure and incidents impacting schools in Queensland. A key aspect of this role is to contribute to the development of strategic plans and initiatives that enhance school security and safety.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading projects and programs requiring extensive stakeholder engagement. Key tasks include:

  • Reviewing and updating school security-related documentation and guidelines;
  • Contributing to the standardisation of documentation across disaster, emergency and school security portfolios;
  • Aligning existing procedures with industry best practice; and
  • Developing communication plans for security initiatives.

Additionally, the Principal Facilities Services Officer will collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement protective security measures, providing expert advice and guidance to ensure effective security practices are implemented across the department.
