About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Landscape Subdivisions team. As a key member of our Planning, Building, and Health department, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our city's built and natural environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the team to deliver high-quality design-based outcomes in the built or natural environment.
  • Develop and implement the unit's business plan, manage the unit's budget, and oversee the capital works budget assigned to the unit.
  • Provide high-level advice to senior management and Council on design issues and projects.
  • Negotiate improved development outcomes for larger development proposals or proposals that will have an impact on the built or natural environment.
  • Prepare project briefs and supervise external consultants/service providers to deliver services on behalf of Council.
Requirements
  • Extensive people leadership experience, promoting cross-divisional collaborated outcomes.
  • Extensive experience in landscape and urban design projects within local government or the private sector.
  • Exceptional communications and interpersonal skills, including the ability to negotiate, work across teams, and provide clear and high-level advice and support.
  • Proven ability to effectively address and resolve strategic issues that arise within a growth area municipality, ensuring sustainable development and alignment with municipal goals.
