Job Title:

Deputy Head of Set Construction

Job Overview:

The Deputy Head of Set Construction plays a crucial role in the delivery of set construction outcomes. Reporting to the Set Construction Manager, this position requires a high degree of flexibility and may involve overtime work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Set Construction Manager to ensure successful delivery of set construction projects
  • Manage a team of construction professionals to achieve project goals
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety in all aspects of set construction
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in theatrical scenery construction management within a large-scale arts organisation or commercial scenery manufacturing environment
  • Highly developed understanding of carpentry and metal fabrication
  • Strong planning, organisation and scheduling skills
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Superior communication and negotiation skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to troubleshoot and improve processes and systems
  • Strong understanding of industrial relations & WHS legislative and regulatory frameworks as applies to the live performance industry

Working Conditions:
