About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Subcontracts Officer to join our Supply Chain Team at BAE Systems Australia.

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for establishing, placing, and managing contracting arrangements with subcontractors and suppliers to deliver cost, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead supplier negotiations, finalize agreements, and ensure contractual compliance.
  • Manage payments, claims, warranties, cash flow, and contract amendments.
  • Achieve value for money, minimize risk, and manage allocated tasks and projects.
  • Collate subcontractor ACE measurement requirements and report as required.
  • Conduct annual Regional Supply Assessments and develop training plans.
  • Collate and manage subcontractor performance for the Combined Services Review.
  • Administer and monitor variations to subcontracts and draft notices as needed.
  • Proactively manage supplier and subcontractor performance to meet contract requirements.
  • Identify risks and opportunities, develop KPIs, and implement strategic performance measures.
  • Facilitate and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with local facilities, security, and safety officers for site access protocols.
  • Assist the Quality function with external subcontractor audits.
About You
  • 3-5 years of supply chain or relevant experience.
  • Tertiary qualification in supply chain or commercial business is highly regarded.
  • Advanced user of MS Office skills, particularly Excel & Word.
  • The ability to use and adapt written and verbal communication skills to suit a variety of different teams.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to balance conflicting priorities to deliver against customer and business requirements, with appropriate stakeholder management.
