Forensic Accounting Specialist

Marsh is seeking a skilled Forensic Consultant to join our team in Sydney. As a key member of our Forensic team, you will play a critical role in providing expert insurance-related services to our clients.
What You Can ExpectThis is an outstanding opportunity for a developing professional to work under supervision, analysing financial data and building financial models that capture and quantify financial exposures. You will partner with senior consultants to manage a variety of Forensic Accounting tasks, with a primary focus on communicating financial data to key stakeholders.
As a Forensic Consultant, you will help provide expert technical and strategic advice to assist our clients in mitigating their risk exposures. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both from home and our Sydney office.

As a Forensic Consultant, your key responsibilities will include:
- Analysing and validating financial and accounting data from clients
- Financial Modelling
- Preparing loss analysis for insurance claims
- Developing an understanding of insurance policies and helping to provide solutions to client risk management needs
- Assisting the Engagement Manager to prepare, negotiate and settle insurance claims.
- Writing effective client communication materials under supervision – reports, slides decks & client emails
- Taking responsibility for own fieldwork in a timely manner in consultation with engagement manager
- Working with the engagement team and learning to help identify and address key technical aspects of the engagement
- Learning to develop strong relationships with clients, insurers and internal Marsh team
- Seeking opportunities to identify proposal leads in consultation with relevant stakeholders
- Delivering work within established budgets, timeframes and deadlines
- Assisting to prepare project proposals, plans and reports to ensure project is delivered according to the project plan.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional with:
- 3 to 5 years post-qualification experience within Audit, Middle Market or Insolvency
- Experience in insurance claims, forensic accounting, litigation, fraud or similar economic losses is preferred
- CA / CPA qualified and Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business or equivalent
- Strong analytical skills with a core focus on attention to detail
- Commitment to providing high-level client service ability to operate in a team environment
- Flexibility with an ability to work on various projects at one time.
