We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Child Health Nurse to join our team in Alice Springs, NT. As a Child Health Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years and their families.
About the RoleThe Child Health Nurse will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to provide evidence-based child health services, including child health assessments, immunizations, and developmental screening. You will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients and develop your skills in child health and Aboriginal health.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality child health services to Aboriginal children aged 0-5 years and their families.
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals to provide evidence-based child health services.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans for clients.
- Conduct child health assessments, immunizations, and developmental screening.
- Provide education and support to clients and their families on child health and development.
- Current AHPRA registration with a minimum of five years clinical practice.
- Expert knowledge of the NT vaccination schedule in relation to childhood immunizations, accredited to provide immunization or willingness to undertake accreditation.
- Working knowledge of Child Health and an understanding of current practices, theories, and values.
- Knowledge of child development and how it relates to Aboriginal children in Central Australia.
