Market Risk Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Market Risk Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Market Risk Team, you will play a critical role in the implementation and management of the Risk Framework and Strategy.

In this role, you will be responsible for assisting with risk identification, analysis, and reporting. You will work closely with various departments to provide policy interpretation and support the assessment of market risk performance against our policies and guidelines.

  • Deliver exceptional service to customers by enhancing our reputation and meeting their expectations
  • Work in partnership with departments to provide policy interpretation on regional and local Market Risk policies and frameworks
  • Collect information in a timely manner to support the assessment of Oceania's market risk performance
  • Support the coordination of committees and meetings
  • Monitor and prepare regular reports on Oceania's performance, including credit limits, loan due date checks, borrow ratings reviews, and audits
  • Adhere to all company policies and guidelines
  • Maintain and update credit limits of front and back office systems
  • Produce risk exposure and profit and loss reports for Treasury, Head Office, and regulatory purposes
  • Produce credit and market risk usage and detect exceptions
  • Maintain middle office systems
  • Assist in testing new risk management systems
  • Document and update risk management systems on a regular basis
  • Carry out special projects as assigned

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Excel skills working in an analytical role, looking to start a career in banking, particularly within risk. Previous banking experience is desirable but not required, however Excel skills are critical to the role.

Key qualifications include good communication and presentation skills, a client-centric approach, high organisation, ability to multitask, and work autonomously and proactively. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management skills are essential.

A tertiary qualification in banking, commerce, finance, or accounting is preferred.
