Conservation Land Manager

Located in the beautiful Avon Valley east of Perth, Paruna Sanctuary forms an important wildlife corridor that links two regionally significant National Parks - Walyunga National Park and Avon Valley National Park - creating a combined protected area of approximately 19,500 ha.

The sanctuary features stunning woodlands of Wandoo and Powderbark.

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Conservation Land Manager to assist in implementing conservation land management programs, including fire management, feral animal control, and weed management, reporting directly to the Paruna Sanctuary Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implementing the approved Paruna asset and infrastructure maintenance program
  • Operational skills in plant and equipment, including routine mechanical repairs
  • Knowledge of land management programs for conservation outcomes, including fire management, weed control, and feral animal control
  • Understanding of Australian ecology and conservation issues
  • Planning and organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and execute tasks efficiently
  • Ability to improvise and problem-solve with limited resources
  • Experience working in a rural/remote area
  • Relevant trade/TAFE qualification (desirable)
  • Valid manual driver's license with 4WD experience in difficult conditions
