About This Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned Electrical Project Manager to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in project management, electrical engineering, and switchboard manufacturing.

The successful applicant will oversee multiple projects from concept to delivery, ensuring timely completion, adherence to scope, and cost-effectiveness. They will be responsible for managing technical and commercial aspects of projects, including detailed engineering, procurement, factory build oversight, contracts administration, and financial management.

  • Key Responsibilities
  • Manage multiple projects throughout the full engineering cycle.
  • Review and approve detailed electrical engineering designs for switchboards, kiosks, switchrooms, and distribution boards.
  • Maintain accurate project schedules and ensure critical milestones are met.
  • Monitor progress and proactively resolve delays or issues.
  • Technical & Quality Oversight
  • Liaise closely with production teams to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.
  • Provide technical input during design and manufacturing stages.
  • E nsure compliance with relevant Australian Standards and client specifications.
  • Procurement & Resource Management
  • Sourc e equipment and materials using a best product–best price approach.
  • Manage supplier relationships to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Contracts & Financial Management
  • Overs ee contracts administration and manage variations.
  • Control budgets, monitor project costs, and conduct accurate financial forecasting.
  • Report regularly to management on project status and profitability.
  • Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strong professional relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers.
  • Represent the business in project meetings, site visits, and technical discussions.
  • Provide clear and timely communication throughout the project lifecycle.
About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • P roven project management experience within the electrical engineering sector.
  • Strong understanding of electrical switchboard design, manufacturing, and installation processes.
  • Knowledge of Australian Standards relevant to electrical switchboards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for managing clients and internal teams.
  • Strong commercial acumen and experience managing project budgets.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment.
Requirements

This position requires:

  • Degree or trade qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification (advantageous).
  • Experience with ERP or project management software.
  • Previous exposure to industries such as water, mining, industrial, or commercial projects.
