Principal Structural Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team.

  • This is a mid-senior level, full-time position within the oil and gas industry.
About the Role

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in structural engineering project management from conceptual design through to installation. They will lead a team of engineers and drafters, guiding them to solve complex problems and deliver results on a diverse range of projects for major national and international clients. This includes brownfield and greenfield projects in offshore and onshore infrastructure, floating/fixed facility design and modifications, specialised equipment design and field developments.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of current offshore codes and specifications, including DNV, API, ISO and AISC. They will also be proficient in using SPACE GASS, SACS, Strand 7 or equivalent structural engineering software. In addition, they will possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide their team members to achieve remarkable things.

We are looking for someone who is well-versed in detailed structural design on brownfield oil and gas projects, including producing calculations and reports. Some experience in areas other than structural such as mechanical, piping, geotechnical, installation or subsea is preferred.

Key Requirements
  • Bachelor of Engineering in a relevant discipline
  • Proven track record of leading teams of engineers and drafters

  • Strong knowledge of offshore codes and specifications
