Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cafe Operations Manager to join our team at The Urban Eatery, a vibrant and welcoming café located in a bustling area. As a Cafe Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the café, ensuring everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations to ensure the café runs smoothly and efficiently, providing excellent customer service at all times.
  • Staff Management: Train and manage café staff, develop staff schedules, handle rostering, and foster a positive work environment.
  • Financial Control: Implement wage control strategies and manage the café's budget to ensure profitability. Monitor and control costs to maintain financial targets.
  • Food Control Plans: Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and standards. Oversee food preparation and maintain high standards of hygiene and quality.
  • Ordering and Stock Management: Handle inventory management, including ordering supplies and managing stock levels to avoid shortages and wastage.
  • Customer Service: Address and resolve customer inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Dog-Friendly Atmosphere: Maintain and promote our dog-friendly environment, ensuring that both customers and their pets enjoy a pleasant experience.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Cafe Operations Manager or in a similar management role within the hospitality industry.
  • Strong understanding of wage control, ordering processes, and food control plans.
  • Excellent organisational skills and experience in rostering and staff management.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, control costs, and implement effective financial strategies.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a passion for delivering a great café experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of health and safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • An appreciation for and comfort with a dog-friendly environment.
