Job Title: Primary Care Physician

The role of a Primary Care Physician is pivotal in delivering high-quality, patient-centred primary care services to the community. This individual plays a vital part in providing comprehensive medical care, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic conditions.

  • Provide thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations, history-taking, and ordering and interpreting relevant investigations.
  • Promote preventative health strategies, screening, immunisations, and health education tailored to patient needs.
  • Collaborate with allied health professionals, nursing staff, specialists, and external providers to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records in accordance with RACGP and AHPRA standards.
  • Participate in clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and ongoing professional development.
  • Support the education of medical students, registrars, or interns, if applicable.
  • Uphold a commitment to culturally safe and inclusive care, especially in serving Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and communities.

Selection Criteria:

  • Unrestricted AHPRA registration as a General Practitioner (FRACGP or equivalent).
  • Demonstrated experience in general practice, with strong diagnostic and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Current CPR certification and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Commitment to ethical practice, patient confidentiality, and continuous professional development.
  • Familiarity with Best Practice or similar clinical software.
  • Eligibility to supervise registrars or medical students.
