We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Advisor Contracts to administer multiple contracts across our sustaining capital project portfolio. This role offers a great opportunity for a contracts professional with effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills, as well as a sharp commercial awareness with a background in project contracts.

Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will support key and complex capital projects across Pilbara Iron Ore assets, providing commercial advice to the delivery team. You will drive the end-to-end contracting strategy for a program of balance machine deliveries, assist the delivery team to performance manage contractors, and ensure fair commercial outcomes for both parties within a timely manner.

You will be responsible for identifying material issues that require escalation to senior management or legal counsel, and for ensuring contracts are managed within our contracts management system. You will also assist with the dispute resolution process for complex contractual claims, and collaborate with other support services to ensure accurate forecasting and that projects are set up for success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting key and complex capital projects across Pilbara Iron Ore assets;
  • Driving the end-to-end contracting strategy for a program of balance machine deliveries;
  • Assisting the delivery team to performance manage contractors;
  • Ensuring fair commercial outcomes for both parties within a timely manner;
  • Identifying material issues that require escalation to senior management or legal counsel;
  • Ensuring contracts are managed within our contracts management system;
  • Assisting with the dispute resolution process for complex contractual claims;
  • Collaborating with other support services to ensure accurate forecasting and that projects are set up for success;
  • Attending contract progress meetings and identifying any potential commercial risk;
  • Traveling to sites as required to maintain effective relationships with key site-based stakeholders and influence contractor safety through leadership in the field.

About You

To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:

  • A minimum of 10 years' experience in contracts, with significant exposure to capital projects;
  • A natural ability to collaborate and work effectively with stakeholders;
  • The ability to successfully manage competing priorities in a fast-paced work environment;
  • Stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
