About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the Sterilising Department at our Bowen Hills laboratory. As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterilization of laboratory equipment and supplies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and process dirty laboratory glass and plasticware
  • Perform tasks related to cleaning, disinfecting, and rinsing of laboratory glassware and medical instruments
  • Wrap, package, and sterilize cleaned items
  • Deliver cleaned laboratory ware to various departments
  • Assist with the assembly of specimen collection kits
  • Provide support to the Microbiology department as a walking courier
  • Assist with dispensing reagents from large to smaller volumes
  • Support sustainability measures across the organization
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize workload and work methodically and efficiently
