We are seeking an experienced Data and Analytics Professional with strong data and analytics expertise to join a federal government agency. In this role, you will play a key part in shaping and delivering strategic data assets and analytical products that drive insights, decision-making, and measurable outcomes for the agency.
You will work at the intersection of business and technology, translating complex data requirements into actionable solutions and ensuring alignment with the agency's Data & Analytics roadmap.
You'll engage stakeholders across the business, technology, and analytics domains to ensure scope, timelines, and deliverables are met. Your focus will be on enabling data-driven decision making through clear requirements, data process documentation, and alignment to technical solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Develop and maintain a requirements traceability framework linking project deliverables to data outcomes.
- Elicit, analyze, and document business and technical requirements for data and analytics initiatives.
- Map and document data flows, data lineage, and business processes to provide context for requirements.
- Facilitate workshops, meetings, and working groups to validate requirements with business and technical stakeholders.
- Review data and analytics solution designs to ensure alignment with business expectations.
- Support implementation of data models, analytics platforms, and reporting solutions.
Required skills and qualifications
- Proven experience as a Data and Analytics Professional within data and analytics projects (not just system migrations).
- Strong background in data validation, testing, and quality assurance across analytics solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze, document, and translate data flows, models, and business processes into technical requirements.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, data mapping, and data lineage analysis.
- Proficiency in JIRA, Confluence, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and experience across Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall delivery frameworks.
- Experience working in data analytics or data warehouse teams, delivering dashboards, reports, or analytical products.
- Exposure to SAS Viya 4 platform.
