About the RoleThe Afterhours Community Connect Counsellor position is part of a multidisciplinary team supporting carers who contact our service after hours. The role involves providing therapeutic support, coping strategies, and activation of care plans via phone for family carers experiencing emotional distress between 8pm-8am Monday-Friday, 24 hours Saturday-Sunday, and Public Holidays.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide warm referrals and transfers to crisis support services
- Support carers with sudden and significant changes in their caring role
- Activate care and safety plans
- Australian professional association accreditation
- Experience with clinical therapies, including Rogerian and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
- Similar experience in a large or complex organization
- Professional indemnity insurance
- Right to work in Australia
- Current valid driver's licence and ability to travel
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate
- Satisfactory National Police Records Check
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Working with Children's Check
