About the Role

The Project Officer is pivotal in delivering strategic projects for Corrections Victoria relating to security, technology and barrier control. In this role, you will gain insight into the unique challenges facing Corrections Victoria and be in the foreground of solving complex problems focused on keeping people safe.

This role operates within a dynamic environment that requires capacity to balance competing priorities, be well organised and deliver work within timeframes. Strong communication skills are required to perform the role well, along with the ability to liaise with staff and key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of various high-level and complex operational projects related to security standards.
  • Prepare high-level briefing papers and reports on various issues in a time-pressured environment.
  • Provide support related to procurement and asset management activities, including aiding the Unit regarding budget matters.

Requirements:

- Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the corrections system.

- Proven ability to plan, monitor and oversee project objectives.

- Confidence in using Microsoft Office programs.

- Proven written communication skills.

Qualifications: No mandatory requirements; however, qualifications in a relevant discipline would be well regarded, as would working knowledge of government administrative processes.
