Cloud Operations Engineer Role

This is a senior position for an experienced Cloud Operations Engineer who will work on cloud infrastructure, bringing software engineering skills and rigor to the operations domain.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Architect and run OpenStack, Kubernetes, and software-defined storage systems, enabling devsecops for applications running on that infrastructure.
  • Treat automation as code, focusing on metrics-driven, model-driven operations at scale, with a pure software engineering mindset.
  • Learn and support the full stack from bare metal networking and kernel up to serverless and open-source applications.
  • Participate in managing hundreds of private cloud, Kubernetes, and application clusters across physical and public cloud estates.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering or Computer Science.
  • Experience with Linux and familiarity with Linux networking and storage.
  • Expertise in Python software development.
  • Operational experience and excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Able to travel internationally twice a year for company events.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with OpenStack or Kubernetes deployment or operations.
  • Familiarity with public or private cloud management.
