Join a dynamic perioperative team as an experienced CSSD Instrument Technician/Educator.

This role requires participation in an on-call roster and rotating weekends.

About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic professional to join our team of surgeons, specialist doctors, dedicated nurses and allied health professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise training sessions for all CSSD staff e.g. loan equipment
  • Take on portfolio of Infection control
  • Handle all repair requests
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, testing, maintenance of Endoscopy equipment
  • Ensure sterilizing practice standards AS: 5369:2023 and infection control guidelines are adhered to at all times
  • Perform duties in all work areas of the department (decontamination, packing, sterilisation, loan instruments and endoscopy)
  • Testing of machinery (washers, sterilisers etc.)
  • Complete audits when required
  • Ability to plan, manage resources and understand the importance of prioritised equipment
  • Inform Manager of any deviations from normal e.g. spore tests, pre-vac tests, washer tests, ultra-sonic tests etc
Qualifications and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years Grade 4 experience, or higher
  • Strong experience in Endoscopy required
  • Certificate IV in sterilising services or working towards this certificate
  • GENCA accreditation (desirable but not essential)
  • Committed to maintaining currency in practical skills and knowledge
  • Able to work well in a team as well as independently
  • Able to prioritise, plan, take the initiative and respond to changes
