Key Role

Senior Legal Counsel to provide independent legal advice and manage risk in a key member role.

  • Deliver written and oral legal guidance on complex matters
  • Review, negotiate and advise on contracts and commercial activities to mitigate risk
  • Prepare statements of reasons for administrative decisions
  • Develop and update policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Process applications for access to information
  • Compile submissions for decision-makers and government entities

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in law or admission as an Australian lawyer with eligibility for an unrestricted Queensland practising certificate
  • Strong critical and strategic analysis skills with ability to produce practical solutions to complex issues
  • Minimum 7+ years PAE experience with (desired) 4 years' corporate/commercial litigation experience
  • Prior in-house experience and administrative roles highly valued
  • Knowledge of government structures and processes also highly regarded
