Medical Laboratory Assistant - Pathology Collector

We are seeking dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistants in Pathology Collections at Westmead Hospital. This opportunity contributes to high-quality patient care by supporting the collection and preparation of pathology specimens.

What You'll Be Doing

Perform venepuncture and other duties pertaining to specimen collection. Engage directly with patients and clinical staff. Ensure the efficient operation of the pathology service. Data entry, processing, and delivery of specimens to sites for pathology investigations as required.

Qualifications and Requirements
  1. Certificate III in Pathology Collections and/or previous experience in venepuncture or demonstrated ability to learn all aspects of the clinical environment relevant to the Department.
  2. Demonstrated customer service experience and ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers and clinical staff.
  3. Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to resolve issues within the clinical environment including specimen preparation and transport ensuring viability of the specimens.
  4. Unencumbered Class C Driver's License (valid in NSW) or ability to travel to any site for a shift as required.
