Job Opportunity

The Department of Health in Hobart, Australia is seeking a senior management leader to step into the critical role of directing capital works projects within the Infrastructure Branch.

The Role

This executive position offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership, direction and oversight of the delivery of the department's capital program. It involves leading the planning, design and delivery of projects; providing leadership to the Capital Program team to ensure projects are rigorously planned, managed and delivered; on time, within budget, and aligned to government priorities and strategic plans.

This executive-level position requires providing definitive strategic advice to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders regarding the development and delivery of the capital program.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the delivery of capital programs and strong leadership skills. A tertiary qualification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management or Project Management would be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Led the planning, design and delivery of projects within the department's capital program
  • Provided leadership to the Capital Program team to ensure projects were rigorously planned, managed and delivered
  • Offered expert and informed advice on project management methodologies and best-practice capital infrastructure delivery

This is a 5-year contract with an attractive remuneration package. Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria, including extensive experience in the delivery of capital programs and strong leadership skills.
