Remuneration: The annual salary range for the position is EL2 - $140,890 - $160,176 p.a., plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of 15.4%.
About the opportunity Reporting to the Executive Director Case Management, the Director Pathway Support plays a critical role in supporting the management of applications for review during the case management phase, including working with the Tribunal's senior leadership and other operational directors to deliver on the Tribunal's statutory and other objectives.
In consultation with the Registrar Leads, the Director Pathway Support oversees the delivery of a range of case management strategies and initiatives, including the Tribunal's caseload strategy and caseload priority framework, and the timely progression of cases to finalisation or readiness for allocation to a member for hearing.
The Pathway Support function sits in the Case Management branch and consists of two sections, each led by a Director responsible for the management of cases and staff in various locations.
The two Directors work closely to deliver the Tribunal's Pathway Support functions.
The section is comprised of two teams, each led by an EL1 Assistant Director with responsibility for two APS6 team leaders each.
About you: The successful candidate will be a strong leader with a proven track record in service delivery and in developing and maintaining productive relationships with senior stakeholders.
You will have a detailed understanding of the Tribunal's legislative and policy context and demonstrated experience in working in a challenging and high pressure environment with competing priorities.
To be successful you will have:- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a team, cultivate a culture of collaboration, and model standards of behaviour consistent with APS Values, APS Employment Principles and APS Code of Conduct.
Demonstrated ability to manage and implement change, identify opportunities for improvement, and to promote a positive approach to dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex information clearly, make persuasive recommendations, and adapt to the needs of different audiences.
The ability to think strategically, exercise judgement, and ensure alignment of section activities with organisational priorities.
Proven capacity to deliver results, successfully lead or deliver complex projects, develop creative solutions, and manage risks appropriately.
Demonstrated capacity to establish and maintain productive relationships with a variety of stakeholders, work collaboratively to achieve outcomes, and negotiate successfully.
Essential: Security Clearance – Ability to obtain and maintain a baseline security clearance.
The Tribunal requires Australian Citizenship as a condition of engagement.
All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and a Health Assessment.
Desirable: Relevant qualification, training or experience related to one or more functions or powers of the Tribunal.
