We are seeking an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our team at EBR, a global engineering and advisory company operating worldwide. Located in Neutral Bay, this role offers a unique opportunity to work on major infrastructure projects and contribute to the development of innovative solutions.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for undertaking desktop and field-based terrestrial biodiversity assessments, providing advice on environmental designs, preparing biodiversity offset strategies, and collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.

About the Role

  • Undertake desktop and field-based terrestrial biodiversity assessments to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide expert advice on environmental designs, including fauna connectivity structures, to minimize impacts on local ecosystems
  • Develop and implement biodiversity offset strategies to mitigate the effects of development on local flora and fauna
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify and manage potential risks associated with biodiversity impacts
  • Prepare high-quality reports to exceptional technical and editorial standards, summarizing findings and recommendations

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • BAM accredited assessor status
  • Experience in NSW undertaking biodiversity assessments, with a strong understanding of local vegetation communities
  • Expertise in the identification of NSW vegetation communities, with the ability to provide authoritative advice
  • A desire to grow, lead, and develop people, with a focus on mentoring and coaching junior staff
  • An appreciation of commercial risk management in the consulting industry, with the ability to balance business needs with environmental responsibilities
  • A current driver's license, with the ability to travel frequently
