About the Role
As a Maritime Logistics Officer with the New Zealand Defence Force, you will embark on a career that combines the thrill of the sea with the challenge of managing complex logistics operations. Your key responsibility will be to ensure the smooth flow of supplies and resources to our ships, bases, and personnel, both at sea and ashore.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate logistics operations, including supply chain management, inventory control, and transportation coordination.
- Develop and implement logistics strategies to meet the needs of the Navy's ships, bases, and personnel.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless integration of logistics operations with other Navy functions.
- Provide leadership and guidance to junior logistics officers and staff.
Training and Development
You will undergo comprehensive training and development programs to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to excel in this role. This will include the Junior Officer Common Training (JOCT) program, which covers core skills in military, mariner, and leadership, as well as specialized logistics training.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of logistics principles and practices, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will also need to meet the minimum entry requirements for the New Zealand Defence Force, including citizenship, education, and medical fitness standards.
