Job Title: Civil Structural Engineer

This is a unique opportunity for a skilled Civil Structural Engineer to join our organization in Brisbane, Australia.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will be responsible for conducting field investigations and client interviews to determine work scope and cost estimates for a project's civil/structural aspects. You will lead design, development, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project's civil/structural aspects are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with Engineers on the design and layout of infrastructure facilities
  • Detailed engineering of typical infrastructure facilities including bulk earthworks detailing, detailed earthworks design and specifications, surface runoff drainage works, stormwater drainage network, roads, underground utility piping, road and rail alignment design, and elevation design and bridge modeling
  • Ensure the timely preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals, including problem analysis and review of design
  • Perform calculations and basic preliminary analyses
  • Check manufacturer's drawings and data for compliance with specifications
  • Prepare specifications and design calculations
  • Prepare or review engineering studies and reports
  • Assist in developing or review of material quantity estimates
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or other relevant technical discipline from an accredited university
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of design of underground services, multi-discipline project teams, engineering work planning, scheduling, and cost estimating
  • Basic understanding of engineering and construction materials related to design and construction practices and economics
