This role will work closely with the WHS Manager to implement and monitor department-wide WHS matters, within a diverse team of building, construction, maintenance field, and office staff.
About the Role:- Support return-to-work activities, including reviewing and developing suitable duties plans, reviewing medical certificates, and rehabilitation activities such as ergonomic assessments and organizing OT assessments.
- Assist with organizing and conducting planning actions for whole-of-business improvement initiatives, such as organizing and coordinating QBuild-wide WHS training and assisting with organizing safety culture activities.
- Assist with reporting and investigating QBuild WHS&E incidents and contractor notifiable incidents.
- Coordinate emergency planning and response activities for AM60 at the direction of QBuild WHS Manager.
- Coordinate the delivery of Departmental health and safety programs and QBuild health monitoring activities.
- Provide assistance to the WHS Manager on WHS matters, including reporting and planning, coordination of WHS events, maintaining the SHE Audit schedule, and WHS Hub page.
- Knowledge of the workers' compensation system, including legislative requirements and the responsibilities of employers and injured employees.
- Knowledge of the rehabilitation process, including the legislated Standard of Rehabilitation.
- The ability to communicate effectively with, and to facilitate the assistance of, medical practitioners, allied health professionals, line managers, injured employees, and others.
- Excellent written communication and numeracy skills.
- Deliver suitable duties plans to staff across a wide range of skill sets.
