Job Title: News Exchange Operator

This is an entry-level technical role responsible for precise monitoring, ingest and labelling of all incoming material.

The job involves sharing content with relevant departments in the newsroom and maintaining high-quality content for on-air broadcast.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor, ingest and label incoming content from various sources.
  • Perform basic non-linear editing.
  • Switch Master Control lines.
  • Liaise with network partners to receive and send content.
  • Archive relevant material into a library.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a live television environment preferred but not required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to resolve technical problems on the job.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and collaboration skills.

The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of Sky News and its platforms.

The role also includes rotating shift work on a seven-day rotating roster, including weekends.
