Job Title: Electronic Instrument Trades Worker

Aroona Pools and Spas is seeking a skilled Electronic Instrument Trades Worker to join our team. As a specialist in pool and spa installations, you will be responsible for examining and testing equipment, integrating smart home technology, and diagnosing faults for maintenance procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Examine and test equipment and instruments, including pH and ORP sensors, temperature sensors, flow meters, pressure gauges, saltwater chlorinators, chemical feeders, and UV sterilizers.
  • Test control systems, including touchscreen controls, wireless remote control systems, smartphone controls, heating control systems, variable speed pumps, and lighting control systems.
  • Integrate smart home technology with pool technology.
  • Diagnose faults for maintenance procedures and replace parts for regular functioning.
  • Oversee the installation of pumps, filters, and heating systems.
  • Check and secure safe installation of instrument elements and associated computers.
  • Adjust, repair, and replace worn or dysfunctional parts and wiring, and maintain equipment.
  • Advise clients on correct operational procedures.
  • Apply knowledge of electronic instrument functions and systems for recommendations to clients for particular systems or customizations to pools and spas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronic Engineering or Computer Technology).
  • At least 1 year of experience in a similar role.
  • Good knowledge of concepts, principles, and practices of electronic systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to read and understand technical documentation, guides, and manuals.
  • Able to service and support equipment and electronic repairs.
  • Familiar with pool and spa instrumentation and elements.
  • Understands safe and easily operated pool equipment for use by customers.
  • Understands troubleshooting, repairing, and replacing technical and instrument elements of pool and spa systems.
  • Familiar with market systems and instruments from different providers and manufacturers.
  • Water chemistry knowledge for health and safety guidelines and home use.
  • Understanding of automated home and commercial pool systems, including programmable logic controllers (PLCs), smartphone apps, and wireless systems.
