About the Role

We're seeking an ITS Operations Engineer to help shape the future of our cities and communities.

You'll join a world-leading Intelligent Transport Systems team developing innovative solutions to solve pressing transport challenges.

As our ITS Operations Engineer, you'll contribute to lasting changes that improve road safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as an escalation point for 24/7 support to Traffic Control and Operations Centres
  • Maintain applications, client operation systems, desktop equipment, server equipment, specialised systems, and networked systems
  • E nsure our ITS Systems are performing to their availability and reliability targets - monitor them closely and conduct maintenance and system upgrades
  • Monitor and maintain special equipment including PABXs and Trunked radio, data network equipment, CCTV equipment, Traffic Flow Systems, PLCs, and Building Security System
  • Provide guidance and direction to sub-contractors and other teams to resolve and escalate system faults, conduct maintenance, and restoration works

This role will suit someone with transferable skills and experiences, including:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience maintaining critical systems in electrical, electronic, or communication system support
  • TAFE or equivalent trade qualifications in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Systems with proven experience in a comparable industry or Engineering Degree in Electrical / Electronic / Computer Systems Engineering
  • Ability to work effectively in rostered environments, adapting to varying schedules and operational demands
  • Hands-on experience in field operations, including system support and troubleshooting across diverse infrastructure and environments
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-driven with a commitment to seeing tasks through to completion
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Licence to drive
