Commercial Management Professional

The role of a Commercial Manager plays a pivotal part in overseeing the commercial aspects of complex projects, ensuring successful delivery and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drafting liability risk assessments to identify potential commercial risks and develop treatment methodologies;
  • Developing procurement artefacts, including approach to market/procurement strategy, evaluation plan & report, and managing procurement schedules with stakeholders;
  • Crafting contractual artefacts for complex sustainment activities, such as Conditions of Tender, Conditions of Contract, and tailoring contracts to suit Statement of Work and procurement requirements based on industry standards;
  • Providing timely and accurate commercial advice and guidance to stakeholders and team members;
  • Supporting tender clarifications, particularly concerning contractual, commercial, and financial elements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of Commonwealth procurement regulations and policies, including PGPA Act, procurement connected policies, and Commonwealth Procurement Rules;
  • Experience with complex contracting templates or equivalent documentation;
  • Formal contracting qualifications, such as Certificate IV in Contracting and Procurement or higher;
  • Strong understanding of probity and evaluation in a commercial environment;
  • Experience in procurement/contract management in Government (Commonwealth or State/Territory);
  • A minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance.
