Poultry Production Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Poultry Production Specialist to join our team at Hopevale. As a key member of our production team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the optimal health and well-being of our layer hens.
Job Description
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in managing the environment to provide optimal conditions for layer hens to achieve maximum production daily. This will involve conducting regular feed, water, and light checks, as well as general maintenance to equipment where necessary.
You will also be responsible for conducting environmental checks to ensure birds are comfortable, and inspections on bird welfare, egg systems, and egg belts for ease of flow. Additionally, you will be required to perform general cleaning and servicing of sheds and equipment as needed.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must possess strong interpersonal skills and be able to work co-operatively with internal and external contacts. You will also require a robust physical nature, as strenuous physical activity may be involved. A current valid driver's licence is essential, as is the ability to work autonomously when required.
In addition to your technical skills and qualifications, you must have good written and verbal communication skills, and be reliable, punctual, and motivated. You will also need to have good attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, with the ability to carry out a range of different tasks.

Working Conditions
You may be required to work reasonable overtime to meet operational demands, including weekends and public holidays as per a rotating roster. McLeans conducts random drug and alcohol testing across its sites, and applicants must be legally entitled to work in Australia to apply. You must not have any birds, pigs or poultry at home, and you must not regularly come into contact with birds, pigs or poultry in order to work at McLean Farms.
