As a Driver Training Specialist, you'll play a key role in delivering top-notch training programs to support our drivers in all aspects of their duties. This includes induction and onboarding, legislative requirements, and Toll Group procedures.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to our business driver training strategy, focusing on risk management, quality assurance, HSE compliance, and human resource management systems. You'll be responsible for implementing continuous improvement considerations in driver training and assessment.

The position involves conducting a range of training programs, including group and one-to-one sessions. You'll assess driver competencies, coach drivers to safely and effectively perform work processes, and support daily activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company procedures and legislation.

You'll work closely with Training Managers to coordinate training requirements and activities, including annual forward planning and monthly requirements communicated to operations. Additionally, you'll support the design and development of high-quality driver training materials in line with learning methodologies.

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Workplace Training and Assessment
  • Heavy Vehicle Drivers Licence (preferably MC), DG licence, current SSAN (Security Sensitive Ammonium Nitrate), MSIC (Maritime Security Identity Card)
  • Knowledge of HV mass management, fatigue management, dangerous goods, load restraint, road transport rules and regulations
  • Experience as a skilled and competent driver/MHE operator and being an experienced and competent Trainer and Assessor
  • A can-do approach towards driver safety, coaching, and risk reduction
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with strong written and verbal communication skills
