Strategic Academic Leader

The Strategic Academic Leader leads the development and implementation of innovative academic initiatives across the school, ensuring a cohesive and student-centred learning environment.

This role provides visionary leadership and works collaboratively with key stakeholders to drive whole-school academic strategy, promote excellence in teaching and learning, and support continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will have experience in senior academic leadership roles, preferably in an independent or Anglican school setting, and a deep understanding of curriculum design, contemporary pedagogy, and assessment frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans to improve academic outcomes and enhance student engagement.
  • Lead teams to design and deliver high-quality curriculum programs that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation, encouraging experimentation and calculated risk-taking to drive educational excellence.
  • Analyse data to inform teaching practice, monitor student progress, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Inspire and support academic staff to build capability, foster collaboration, and promote professional growth.
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, supporting student wellbeing and academic success through responsive practices that enhance engagement and learning outcomes.
  • Engage effectively with staff, students, parents, and external partners to promote a shared vision for academic excellence.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Masters-level qualification in Education or related field.
  • Proven experience in senior academic leadership roles, preferably in an independent or Anglican school setting.
  • Expertise in curriculum design, contemporary pedagogy, and assessment frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to interpret complex data and inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with capacity to engage and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
