We are seeking a skilled and experienced Restructuring Lawyer to join our dynamic team in Sydney. As a key member of the restructuring & bankruptcy team, you will be responsible for advising clients on complex debt and equity transactions, restructurings, insolvencies, and litigation risk assessments.
Our global restructuring practice has handled some of the most significant domestic and cross-border matters in recent years, acting for stakeholders across the capital structure wherever they encounter distress.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing legal advice on restructuring and insolvency matters;
- Advising clients on liability management exercises, out-of-court and in-court restructurings, new money capital raises, exchange offers and debt exchanges;
- Acting for corporates, boards of directors and management, sponsors, banks, lenders, noteholders, and ad hoc groups;
- Supporting clients across various industries, including energy and natural resources, consumer, retail, financial services, industrials, aviation, and shipping;
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Outstanding academic credentials;
- High-level drafting and analytic skills;
- Resilient self-starter with intellectual curiosity and versatility to continuously acquire, build upon and share knowledge;
- 3-5 years of post-qualification experience as an Australian qualified Lawyer / Associate;
