Key to our environmental initiatives is the role of Environmental Field Officer. This position plays a pivotal part in our environmental compliance and sustainability efforts.

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and suitably qualified individual to join our team, focusing on field monitoring, data analysis, report writing, and community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Collect and analyse environmental data from field sources including waterways, gas bores, and climate stations.
  • Monitor and report on consent compliance across landfill, effluent, sediment, water quality and gas systems.
  • Support wetland restoration and planting programmes.
  • Lead community liaison efforts and respond to environmental complaints.
  • Review and update environmental management plans and monitoring methodologies.
  • Facilitate independent environmental reviews and site inspections.
  • Assess new waste streams and advise on environmental risks.
  • Optimise landfill gas collection and destruction systems.
  • Promote our environmental initiatives through school visits, field days, and presentations.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Environmental Management, Sustainability, Resource Management, or Environmental Sciences (required under consent conditions).
  • Minimum 3+ years in a similar role (5+ years preferred).
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills.
  • Experience with environmental monitoring equipment and GIS tools.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • A proactive attitude and ability to work independently.
