Hand therapy clinicians play a pivotal role in the healthcare system, providing evidence-based interventions for patients with hand conditions. At Monash Health, our Hand Therapy Clinician Grade 3 position offers an opportunity to join a high-performing team and contribute to innovation in public health.

Our Clinical Focus

The Adaptive Hand Therapy Clinic is part of Monash Health's Alternative Pathways project, aiming to provide evidence-based intervention for patients with specified hand conditions. This enables increased numbers of people to be removed from surgical waiting lists.

As a Senior Clinician, you will work primarily in the Adaptive Hand Therapy Clinic, with a small amount of work likely in the existing Plastics and Ortho clinics. Our large, acute Hand Therapy service prioritizes patient-centred outcomes, continually focusing on service improvement for the patient journey.

We pride ourselves on delivering best care to maximise a patient's return to function. The Senior Clinician will be part of our Seniors team across hand therapy and the bed-based service, affording growth and learning in leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advocate for clear communication and ensure best care for the patient.
  • Have a positive approach to conservative interventions and focus on patient-centred outcomes.
  • Engage patients in the participation of their treatment journey.
  • Acknowledge responsibility for own learning.
  • Collaborate with others in the development of department resources and research pursuits.
