RCR Mining Technologies, a leading manufacturer of innovative materials handling solutions in Perth Metropolitan, seeks an experienced Surface Preparation Specialist to join their team at the Welshpool Workshop.

**Job Summary:**

We are looking for a skilled professional with expertise in surface preparation, painting, and blasting to work on various projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring high-quality finishes on steel and hard composition objects, reviewing specifications, and maintaining accurate records.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Perform surface preparation tasks, including contamination removal and finish achievement.
  • Apply paint or coatings using spraying or brushing techniques.
  • Review painting specifications and ensure compliance with required standards.
  • Blast to profile tolerances and specifications.
  • Take precise measurements when measuring blast profiles.
  • Maintain accurate records of painting thickness, including DFTs, paint reports, salt testing, etc., as necessary.
  • Manage inventory of materials, including paints and consumables, and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of machines and equipment.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to apprentices and trades assistants.

**Requirements:**

  • Australian Recognised Trade Certificate in Industrial Painting or Blasting, or relative experience.
  • Valid Driver's Licence.
  • Work at Heights & Confined Space Tickets.
  • Dogging/Rigging certification (preferred but not essential).
  • Forklift Ticket (preferred but not essential).
  • Physical fitness for manual labour and ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening.
  • Strong commitment to safety and reliable work ethic.
