About the Project:
A 30 ML/d seawater desalination plant will provide a weather-independent supply to the community in the lower Hunter region.
This project is one of the largest capital projects in the water sector in the Hunter region, aiming to achieve a sustainable outcome for the nature of a seawater desalination plant.
As part of its Carbon Neutral Strategy by 2035, this project pursues an IS Rating.
About the Role:
You will monitor and support the safety function under general supervision to provide coordination and operational support to the project management team.
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring compliance with safety systems and procedures within the workplace
- Implementing safety programs for project employees
- Assisting with workers' compensation claims and rehabilitation processes
- Conducting incident and accident investigations
- Conducting safety inspections and monitoring work areas
- Establishing positive working relationships with project personnel and raising awareness of safety risks
- Assisting in developing communications tools and records for project safety meetings
- Maintaining reports and documentation concerning project safety programs
To Be Successful in This Key Role:
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety or equivalent qualification
- Safety Lead Auditor qualification
- Construction safety management experience (1+ years)
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative risk assessment and monitoring of risk controls
- Experience monitoring, reviewing, and performing compliance inspections
- Skills in safety management techniques and tools
