Job Overview

The position of Senior Research Director is a pivotal role in driving the strategic direction and execution of research initiatives. As the leader of a multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing high-impact research projects across various areas, including dementia, wound care, mental health, chronic disease, palliative care, and veterans' health.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and lead a research strategy aligned with the organization's priorities and emerging trends in aged care.
  • Research Excellence: Oversee the development and implementation of research projects that aim to improve health outcomes across aged care, retirement living, and community services.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of researchers, fostering a culture of collaboration and scientific rigor.
  • Partnerships & Collaboration: Build strong relationships with universities, government bodies, consumer groups, and aged care providers to ensure effective knowledge translation and policy influence.
  • Knowledge Translation: Ensure research findings are translated into practice, policy, and workforce development, contributing to national aged care reform discussions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline and a strong track record in clinical or health services research.
  • Proven ability to lead interdisciplinary teams and deliver impactful outcomes.
  • Expertise in aged care, chronic disease management, and health policy.
  • Strong understanding of research governance, ethics, and data privacy.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
