About the Role

We are seeking a Disability Support Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate in their community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, living skills, and recreational activities.
  • Support participants with shopping and cooking.
  • Provide transportation and facilitate community participation.
  • Administer First Aid and manage medical emergencies as required.
  • Respite Care and Medication Supervision.
  • Offer person-centred support and care to aid participants' independence, health, and well-being.
  • Encourage participants' involvement within the community and assist them in achieving their goals.

Essential Criteria:

  • Flexibility and availability are essential in this role, with the ability to work various shifts, including mornings, days, afternoons, evenings, and nights.
  • Minimum Cert III in Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, Mental Health, or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of demonstrated experience working with people with disabilities or lived experience.
  • NDIS Screening Check (state based).
  • Current drivers licence.
  • Comprehensive Insurance.
  • Use of own car for work purposes.
  • Valid work rights in Australia.
  • Current National Police Check (within 12 months validity).
  • Current First Aid & CPR certification.
  • NDIS Worker Orientation Module Certificate.
