Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to assume the role of Senior Accounts Payable Officer. This position will be responsible for coordinating accounts payable functions and providing comprehensive support to the finance team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Taking ownership of accounts payable operations, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant payment processing across multiple entities.
  • Managing supplier and vendor relationships, including invoice verification, reconciliations, and overseeing payment runs (domestic and international).
  • Administering corporate card programs and expense reimbursement processes.
  • Implementing robust internal controls, approval workflows, and fraud prevention measures.
  • Preparing and analysing AP reports, highlighting risks and opportunities for senior financial stakeholders.
  • Supporting financial operations through month-end and year-end closing activities, cash flow management, and assisting with audits.
  • Acting as the system/process owner for AP, leading improvements, upgrades, and testing to enhance efficiency.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in accounts payable within a medium-sized organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, supplier reconciliations, and account management.
  • High level of computer literacy, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using accounting software (Xero or NetSuite advantageous).
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build effective relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
